Super 8 Fire Report

The Winnemucca City Fire Department would like to announce that on September 28th, at 8:26pm, the city fire department was called for a structure fire at the Super 8 Motel.  Upon arrival heavy smoke was coming from the south end of the building.  The fire department made entrance and ound the wall between the first and second floor to be on fire.  The fire was found and extinguished with minimal damage.  Due to heavy smoke in the building it was necessary to close the business.  At the time of the fire there were 47 registered guests.  The guests were evacuated and were found other locations in the city to stay.

The fire department responded with 4 engines and 19 personnel.  There was 1 individual that suffered minor smoke inhalation and was treated and released at the scene by EMS.  The departments investigation revealed the fire was accidental.  The Winnemucca Police Department and Humboldt General EMS assisted at the scene of the fire.
