Community Calendar Week of 5/7/18

The Lowry girl’s varsity softball team will travel to Fallon for the Regional’s Thursday May 10th for a 4:30pm game which will be broadcast live on Buckaroo Radio’s 92.1fm and streamed on the internet.

The Lowry Boys Golf Team will travel to Truckee Wednesday May 9th at the Old Greenwood Golf Course.

The Lowry Track teams will travel to Yerington for the Regional’s on Friday May 11th and Saturday May 12th.

The Buckaroo swim teams will travel to a meet at the Northwest Pool on Tuesday May 8th and then to Carson City for the Regional’s on Friday May 11th and Saturday May 12th.

The Humboldt County High School Rodeo Club’s next rodeo will be in Wells on Saturday May 12th and Sunday May 13th.

Lowry Drama and Stagecraft proudly presents the annual tradition of the Senior Skits. The Skits will take place in the Lowry Auditorium at 7pm May 7th through the 9th.  Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for all other tickets.

On Saturday May 12th the United States Postal Service will hold their annual letter carriers’ food drive. Put your non-perishable donations in a bag by your mailbox. The post office will pick it up and your donation will be delivered to our local food bank.

Mother’s Day is Sunday May 13th.

NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) will be holding a Family to Family Class on Saturday’s until May 19th at the Winnemucca United Methodist Church. There is also an ongoing Family Connections Confidential Support group for family members of those with mental illness which currently meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 5 pm and alternate Tuesdays at 1 PM at the Methodist Church.

The Grief Support Group meets every third Thursday of the month at the Sonoma Room at Humboldt General Hospital. Caregiver support meets at 5pm and Grief support meets at 6pm. Call 775-625-4263 for more information.
