A free screening of the documentary Big Sonja will be shown at the Boys & Girls Club of Winnemucca on May 21st starting at 6:30pm. The cast and crew will be present and part of the filming was done in Winnemucca. The film is an uplifting story about a holocaust survivor and her story.
The Bureau of Land Management, Winnemucca District, Black Rock Field Office, Friends of Black Rock-High Rock (FBR), Friends of Nevada Wilderness and Nevada Outdoor School are hosting the annual Black Rock Rendezvous event May 25-28 at the Black Rock Desert. The three-day, family-friendly event includes public lands service projects, guest speakers, a “kid’s camp,” guided natural and cultural interpretive tours and a Dutch oven cook-off on Saturday night. Camp for the 2018 will be at the base of Cassidy Mine Road on the Black Rock Desert Playa.
