Lowry Track Teams Continues to Impress

 

Lowry ‘s head track coach Grant Beatty had this to say about last weeks track meet. “We had a good showing at the meet. Girls side:  Shelby Garrison took 1st in the 400 meter run she also took 3rd in the High Jump. Shelby is having a tremendous season and really is a great leader of our team. Becca Kuskie had a personal record and took 6th in the 1600 meter run and then took 3rd in the 3200 meter run. Hailey Hinkle took 2nd in 300 High Hurdles.  The Girls 4×400 relay team took first and improved on there overall top time in the 3a. Heather Hall had personal record in shot put and continues to get better each week. Rachel Garrison took 3rd in discus with a personal record of 127’-05″.”

Grant talked about the Boys team and the success they are having by putting in the hard work: Lalo Aguilar cleared 10’6″ in Pole vault and he just started this year. Huge improvements he’s made through the season working with coach Alicia Heiser. Erick Lopez took 5th in 200 meter dash. Timur Krapivin had a personal record in 400 meter run, and 9th overall, he’s been running really strong the last few meets. Brandon Lee and Hunter Albisu had personal records in the 800 meter run. Brandon is showing some great potential. The Boys 4×200 meter relay took 5th. Will Kracaw took 9th in the 1600 meter run and Scottie Smith took 3rd in the High Jump.”

This week the boys and girls track teams are in action at Truckee High School. A number of athletes and relay teams are close to recording regional qualifying times.
