Lowry Baseball Swept Sparks this Past Weekend

Lowry baseball coach Andy Harmon has his team playing at a high level early in this young season. The young guns from Winnmeucca have bought into coach Harmon’s philosophy and it has translated into a 6-3 league record and a 3rd place position.

Lowry one game 1 by a score of 10-0 behind the stellar pitching of Taz Milton who had 11 strikeouts and gave up only 3 hits. The hitting star was Brendan Domire who went 3 for 3 at the plate and a trio of Bucks, Kyle Sappington, who also had a home run, Ridge Ricketts and Riley Sakurado drove in 2 runs apiece.

Game 2 saw the Bucks  win 15-5 as 4 different Buckaroo pitchers ere on the bump. Jimmy Rackley led the way with 4 RBI’s on 3 hits on 3 at bats with on being a double. Ridge Ricketts and Riley Sakurado also had 2 hits apiece with Riley smacking a double and contributed 2 RBI’s.  Brendan Domire drove in 3 RBI’s with a home run.

The final game in the series had the Bucks winning 15-0 in just 3 innings. Ren Mattson threw a 1 hit shutout to get the win . He also struck out 4 of the 11 batters he faced.Riley Sakurado was perfect at the plate with 3 hits and 2 RBI’s. Also, sophomores  Levi Christopherson and Dominic Kelley also were perfect at the dish with 1 hit apiece and 1 RBI each. Taz Milton had 2 RBI’s on 2 hits to round out the hitting stars of the game.

Next up is a weekend series at Elko High School this coming Friday and Saturday.
