Coach Chelsea Cabatbat’s team moved into a tie for 3rd place with Spring Creek as they defeated Elko on Tuesday night 50-45. In a back and forth game all evening that saw both teams at times struggle to score baskets in the end it was Lowry’s famed press that pulled out the game. The last 3 minutes of the game the press created a number of turnovers as Elko had trouble with the press which created scoring opportunities and ultimatley the victory for the Lady Bucks.
A total team effort as Lowry’s leading scorers throughout the year Alyssa Kuskie and Sydney Connors once again led the team in the scoring department. Kepa Bengochea played defense with her usual tenacity and the rest of the team did what they do best.
This Friday the Lady Bucks will host Spring Creek and this game is important to put the ladies alone in 3rd place as they then will set their sights on 2nd place Fernley as they march toward their quest for a first round playoff bye. The game will be broadcast at 6pm on Pure Gold 92.1fm and streamed on the internet.
