All Around Nevada is a website run by University of Nevada Reno Professor Howard Goldbaum. The site highlights fascinating out of the way places in Nevada. Professor Goldbaum has given us permission to reprint content from the site. Today’s post is about the Eureka Opera House.
The interior of the Eureka Opera House includes a well-preserved olio, or stage curtain, featuring advertisements for local businesses. The institution dates to 1874, taking its final form in 1880 after several fires. A major restoration in the 1980s has brought the place back to life.
