Equifax Has Data Breach

On Monday, Equifax announced that is had suffered one of the largest data breaches with 143 million people facing theft of their names, social security numbers, birth dates, and even driver’s license numbers. The company issued a statement affirming that enrollment in the free monitoring service it offers does not waive any rights to take legal action.  Following an uproar, Equifax amended its terms of service to remove the offending clause. The company also rectified another flaw by specifying that enrollees in the one-year free service won’t be automatically enrolled in the paid service after their free year expires.
